PRE & POST NATAL CLASSES

Pre and Post Natal Classes are usually for 6 or 7 week blocks.

You can pay for pre natal classes on a weekly basis from 36 weeks.

POST NATAL PILATES

You can start pilates exercises once you have had your 6 week post natal checkup, although following a C Section should you wish to start before 12 weeks you will need written confirmation from your health professional.


Post-Natal pilates has the following benefits:


• Strengthening the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles which can be weakened                              during pregnancy and birth.

• Aids relaxation as it combats the stress and tension of life with a new baby.

• Helps you return to a pre-pregnancy physique.

• Increases your energy levels.

• Helps to realign the body and create strength and stability.

PRE NATAL PILATES

Pre Natal pilates has been modified to allow mums-to-be to exercise safely and effectively throughout pregnancy.  Guidelines recommend that you can start pre-natal pilates from 16 weeks. However, if you have already been practising pilates and have written confirmation from your health care provider, you can attend earlier.


During pregnancy, your body undergoes a number of changes and pilates can help strengthen the right muscles to help support these by:


• Improving your posture and balance

• Strengthening your deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles allowing for an easier                          pregnancy, delivery and recovery.

• Helping to reduce pelvic and low back pain.

• Improving circulation.

• Maintaining strength and fitness.

• Promoting relaxation.
